Your newsletter is getting better and better?
Fareed Abdul Ghani

Your story about your family's photo was wonderful. ...

I hope your story inspires others to get regular family shots.

Linda Gorham

Aneeta, I just finally sat down and read last months' newsletter.  I found your story about the Family Photo very poignant.  Your words were skillfully chosen to craft your story into a simple, but powerful piece.  Well done!

best,

Leanne Johnson, Storyteller

MESSAGE FROM ANEETA

Hello Storyteller,

I hope this newsletter finds you happy and full of stories to tell.

I've added 2 new freebies to our Freebies section:  How To Write A Book Review and Don't Take Candy From Strangers. The 2nd resource is a gift from the person I interviewed for this edition of Blow Your Own Trumpet!, Bill Wardell. You can find all these resources by clicking on the link entitled Freebies For Storytellers - see left margin. I know this link works as I've tested it. I say this because in the last edition of the newsletter, the link to the piece on Aeries' Child didn't. I've made the corrections and I'm sorry for that.

As always, there are new pieces in Infosynthesis, Jack's Fables, Storytellers Nuts and Bolts, Zodiac's Children and more resources for storytellers.

The winner of a copy of Frankie Lennon's The Mee Street Chronicles is Murthy G.S.S.. Murthy, please contact Frankie at flennon@peoplepc.com to claim your copy of this this book.

The book offered for the current contest is a copy of Eve Neuhaus's Journey To Mythaca.  Click here to enter this contest.

I hope you enjoy the information shared.

Here's to your storytelling success.

INFOSYNTHESIS

What Is Business Sense (1)

What is the principal thing you need to succeed in your business today? Money. Sure, you need it, but it is not the main ingredient for success. People.

STORYASIA

The Earrings

My wife was one of those pretty and charming girls born, as though God made a mistake with her, into a family of labourers who lived in a low-cost flat. As such, she had minimal education, few opportunities to further her studies, no means of getting to know suitable young men and absolutely no chances of falling in love prior to marriage.

Jack's Fables

Regrets, I've had a few…

Bellocks the Badger [BB] was coming up to ‘retirement.’ The inhabitants of the wood had voted him in three times, and he decided it was time to go.

Storytellers Nuts and Bolts

Words Writers Misspell

Contrary to popular belief, not all writers are good spellers. In fact, and unfortunately, many writers—particularly writing “newbies”—are not. Even self-professed “grammar queens” and “grammar nazis” are guilty of making regular spelling mistakes.

BLOW YOUR OWN TRUMPET!

Be A Friend To Have A Friend

Excerpts ...

Bill: My grandmother raised me from the time I was 3 years old.  She was a wonderful lady and she taught me how to be a good person.  In a nutshell… it’s one of the most valuable lessons that I learned from my grandmother.  She would tell me often, and I can still hear her say: Bill you have to be a friend, to have a friend!

ZODIAC'S CHILDREN

Aries’ Child

Excerpts ...

Aries is the sign of the entrepreneur.  Think of those traits that make up a successful entrepreneur… they are bright and hard working, most comfortable working as a one man show, love to be the first to discover and present things to the world, and rarely allow others to dominate them.

ARTICLES FOR STORYTELLERS

Who Is The Inner Critic?

The inner critic is that voice inside your head that tells you that you aren't good enough, smart enough, talented enough, pretty enough, or strong enough. It nags and natters at you to the point that your self confidence and sense of bravery is destroyed.

Burial At Sea by Khushwant Singh

Excerpts ...

Burial At Sea is not a big book. Less than 200 pages it is a short tale and on the jacket cover of the book, a summary of the story is given; it states:

After Nehru, Victor Jai Bhagwan is Mahatma Gandhi’s favourite Indian – a brilliant young man with the temperament of a leader and fiercely committed to his country.

TELL EVERYONE ABOUT ...

Hi!   I'm hoping to start a Christian storytelling group. The people won't have met and so, I'm looking for activities and/or games that would help us all get more comfortable with each other, feel more relaxed, feel more encouraged to start to share our own stories ....in appropriate format.

If you have any ideas about this, I'd really be grateful...

Thanks so much,   Joy
