A WARM WELCOME TO ALL OUR NEW SUBSCRIBERS!
I.
Introduction
Happy New Year everyone! I hope that 2006 brings you much joy, happiness
and prosperity.
Firstly, if you've received the 'welcome note' for subscribing, yet
again, I'm sorry. I can't understand why it is that the email keeps
being sent out. I just have to go with the flow and hope that it stops
soon.
As you can see, I have a new format. The last one took too long to load
and there was just too much to read. So, what I've done is to give you
just the titles of articles and give you a link to read more if you
wish.
There's a new contest running and it's a book entitled 'Spiritual
Clarity' by Jackie Wellman. Please, go check it out.
'How To Tell A Great Story' is now in its 4th edition. I would like to
say a special thanks to all those who contributed their comments about
the 3rd edition of the ebook. It has helped to make this 4th edition
even better.
The most important news, perhaps, is that we're now in a position to pay
people whose short, fascinating stories we publish under 'What's Your
Fascinating Story?' Please go to this page to see the criteria.
I hope that you enjoy the read.
All the best,
Aneeta Sundararaj

What Does It Take To Become A Writer?
“First, a compelling passion to become one. The motivating
force is not money … nor the quest for recognition or fame:…
Writing prose is much harder. It requires wide reading of
classical and modern literature, a larger vocabulary and
above all else stamina to persevere till the task is done.
In short the ability to slog, the ability to sit for hours
if need be facing a blank paper, a determination to not get
up until it is filled with writing. ...

ARTICLES AND BOOKCLUB
Mummy,
everyone hates lawyers.
It
appears that since my
post about
Lawyers Summed Up,
the words ‘law’ and
‘lawyers’ seem to be
popping up everywhere.
Even a friend of mine,
who has been a
businessman for more
than half his life, has
now decided that he
would like to study law!
This baffles me for he
has many times said he
hates lawyers and yet,
he wants to be one. I
did a little research
and I discovered that
there are a whole load
of people out there who
absolutely detest
lawyers … with a
passion, I must add.

I meant to tell you earlier that I greatly enjoyed reading your
blog. I especially liked the article on self- publishing. It was
very informative and the feedback from Singapore was good too.
Well done!!
