I would like to thank you for your editor report on my first draft story, the report was very comprehensive and thorough. In the report you put some excellent and useful suggestions, on how I may progress forward to publishing my story. ...

I have no hesitation in recommending Aneeta's services to anyone who like myself wants to tell a story, but is unsure how to get there.

Since being introduced to "How To Tell A Great Story (7th edition)" and becoming a 'Great Story Telling Network' newsletter subscriber, I have laughed, been amazed, and always satisfied with the information provided. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to improve their own story telling skills. While out on book signings, the most asked question is, "How do I go about telling my story?"  I always recommend "How To Tell A Great Story."

Rest in Peace (2)

Breaking the News

Spreading information about the death of a loved one to relations can (sometimes) be a painful and difficult job among Christians in the Southern states of Nigeria.

In Part 1 of this series, we gave a number of reasons why this is so, and the hesitation to break the news even though such job is accompanied by plenty of storytelling. The bottom line is that the direct survivor of the deceased is always the last person to know of the death of a loved one, sometimes, several months later.

End with a Bang

I start off [my story] with a bang but end up with a whimper. Not sure what the problem is. Any suggestions?

The above is an email I received from one of the subscribers to my newsletter. Indeed, sometimes, the hardest part of telling a tale is to know when and how to stop! However, there is a very simple method to ensure how success in ending your tale appropriately.

Storytellers Nuts and Bolts

Writing Numbers

How do you write numbers? This is a common question asked by many writers. The answer depends on what field you’re working in or what style guide you need to follow. Arabic numerals are generally used in commercial, mathematics, statistics, science, or technical fields. Other works like literary or humanistic mostly use numbers written out in words.

BLOW YOUR OWN TRUMPET!

Teacher, Storyteller - interview with Richard Martin

Excerpts ...

Aneeta: What do you consider to be an important aspect of storytelling?

Richard: One of the most important aspects of storytelling for me is the performance situation: practice beforehand is fine, but only with listeners can the magic be generated.

Secondly, this magic is what keeps storytellers telling. In workshops with teachers I give a health warning and tell them that storytelling is like sex and drugs: once you start – oh, it is very hard to stop!

Thirdly, respect the listeners and also the story.

ZODIAC'S CHILDREN

Scorpio's Child

Excerpts ...

Scorpios get a lot of bad press.  They are vindictive, mean, and obsessed with sex.  That’s not really fair.  Scorpio rules the house of sharing.  They are the stewards of sharing money, resources, love, and yes sharing each other’s bodies.  It is their deepest most spiritual need to be completely connected, loved, and sharing from the depth of their soul.  It is from this place that they are so easily hurt.  Wounded Scorpios are a force to be reckoned with and yes, they are famously ruthless and cruel.  How do you keep your own Scorpio child from becoming obsessive and mean?

Vashtu Sastra Guide by T. Selva

Excerpts ...

Vasthu Sastra Guide is a non-fiction piece of work. In the author’s own words:

Although the awareness of Vasthu Sastra is increasing daily worldwide, I found that many people lacked understanding of the effective application of Vasthu Sastra rules on their properties. This prompted me to write this book to enhance the understanding of Vasthu Sastra.
