Dear Aneeta,

Have enjoyed being on your e-mail list.

Jane Hinds

I would like to thank you for your editor report on my first draft story, the report was very comprehensive and thorough. In the report you put some excellent and useful suggestions, on how I may progress forward to publishing my story. ...

I have no hesitation in recommending Aneeta's services to anyone who like myself wants to tell a story, but is unsure how to get there.

MESSAGE FROM ANEETA

Dear [FIRSTNAME],

I'm so sorry there was no newsletter two weeks ago -my computer crashed and I could not get access to the information inside it. I had to replace some parts of it. All working now. Thankfully I backed up lots of my data. However, it's taken this long to feed it all back into the computer.

There are new pieces by Jack, Kristy and Eric in thier respective columns.  I've also added new announcements sent in by our subscribers and where possible, I've added the Amazon.com links to their books.

The winner of a copy of Dr. Neill Neill's Living With A Functioning Alcoholic is Aniqua Ghazali. Please contact Dr. Neill Neill to obtain your copy of this ebook. The ebook offered for the current contest is a copy of A Twist of Fate - this was made possible by Graeme Houston who has one of his stories published in that book. Click here to enter this contest.

I hope you enjoy the information shared.

Here's to your storytelling success.

INFOSYNTHESIS

Business Sense

There is some sense in every business, including storytelling. I call it Business Sense. If you bake a cake, you need to finish it up with icing. Business sense provides the icing on the cake. If you are running your business without Business Sense, it is like baking a cake, and not putting the icing on it. People may well eat your cake, but the sweetness is not complete because there is no icing on it.

Indonesian Batik Through the Ages

The word “Batik” is derived from an Indonesian-Malay word. Bahasa Indonesia and Bahasa Malaysia are the official languages of Indonesia and Malaysia respectively. Today, batik is a term which refers to the process of applying a dye-resistant substance to prevent the fabric from absorbing colours..

Storytellers Nuts and Bolts

Balancing Your Sentences

Grammar can sometimes be a balancing act. This is especially true when trying to express two or more ideas in the one sentence. Balancing your sentence structure will improve your writing style and improve the clarity of the sentence.

BLOW YOUR OWN TRUMPET!

Sail the Storyteller's World - interview with Roy E Schreiber

Excerpts ...

Living so close to the ocean, I learned to swim, surf and sail before I could drive.  Sailing has a particular attraction for me because each time out can be anything from relaxing to adventurous.  Until I get out on the water, I have no way of telling.  Over time I’ve gotten reasonably good at handling sailboats of anything from ten to fifty feet in length, but as a racing skipper, I’ve never had the talent to compete successfully.  That is part of the reason William Bligh attracted me.  Although he was undoubtedly a difficult and unpleasant person, he could do things with a sailboat that were truly breathtaking, things I will never be able to do.  So I write about him doing them instead.

Storyteller's Notes - interview with Eva Pasco

Excerpts ...

Aneeta: As you know, this website caters for storytellers. What advice would you give those who would like to take this art seriously?

Eva: Persevere.  Writing is not for the faint of heart.  After “The End,” the writer’s arduous journey to go public begins with the task of finding a suitable  publisher.  I’d like to take this moment to thank my publisher, Jonathan Womack of Charles River Press, who recognized the potential in a fledgling writer, and fanned the wind beneath my wings.

Spirit of a Storyteller - interview with Matt Jones a.k.a. Sitting Bear

Excerpts ...

Aneeta: I am not very familiar with Native American stories, I admit. But, I found it interesting that your purpose is to demonstrate how white government officials and bureaucrats have imposed the Anglo point of view on Native Americans to the detriment of the Indian's achievement and self-esteem. Can you then please give me an example of how you do this … a story, perhaps?

Matt:  OK, I will tell you about Miarke tahhunshe (Big Soldier).  Miarke tahhunshe rujirara chi kigra chigi ikunnyi.  e^e wanashe wahtohtana.  Oh, I’m sorry I will translate the story about Big Soldier.

ZODIAC'S CHILDREN

Scorpio's Child

Excerpts ...

Scorpios get a lot of bad press.  They are vindictive, mean, and obsessed with sex.  That’s not really fair.  Scorpio rules the house of sharing.  They are the stewards of sharing money, resources, love, and yes sharing each other’s bodies.  It is their deepest most spiritual need to be completely connected, loved, and sharing from the depth of their soul.  It is from this place that they are so easily hurt.  Wounded Scorpios are a force to be reckoned with and yes, they are famously ruthless and cruel.  How do you keep your own Scorpio child from becoming obsessive and mean?

First Words Make (or Break) First Impressions

“Next!”
“Checking in…?”
“Here or To-Go?”

Isn’t it frustrating when those are the first words that come out of a front line employee’s mouth? As if they didn’t want to take the time, or couldn’t care less about offering a friendly, approachable greeting to the customer. Meanwhile, the next guy waiting in line thinks to himself, “Gee, thanks for the warm welcome. Nice first impression.”

Vashtu Sastra Guide by T. Selva

Excerpts ...

Vasthu Sastra Guide is a non-fiction piece of work. In the author’s own words:

Although the awareness of Vasthu Sastra is increasing daily worldwide, I found that many people lacked understanding of the effective application of Vasthu Sastra rules on their properties. This prompted me to write this book to enhance the understanding of Vasthu Sastra.

This is a reminder ... about an upcoming email Blitz for my website which has, amongst other things, my book, True Tales of College Golf.

That email Blitz is scheduled for October 31 … Please join in with me in forwarding my email letter.  ALSO - please suggest some "free" downloads that you would add to my list of "free" downloads already in the big offer.  My goal is to have 500,000 people receive it and that could mean a lot of hits on my website and yours.

All God's best,
