Family Photo

In 1979, my family posed for a photograph which was taken by Mr. Chia. Being the official photographer for the Kedah Sultan and his family, Mr. Chia had very little spare time and, therefore, this session was very precious to my mother.

Storytellers Nuts and Bolts

Confused By Some Words?

How many times have you typed a word only to find that it wasn’t quite the one you thought it was? This happens all the time as we bash out our words on the keyboard, unaware that we should have used the ‘other’ version of a particular word in its place.

BLOW YOUR OWN TRUMPET!

Voice of Creativity - Interview with Jeanette W. Vaughn

Excerpts ...

Jeanette:  Kuumba is an African word, KiSwahili, meaning creativity.  Creativity (Kuumba) is one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa (first fruits).  Kwanzaa is an African-American cultural celebration-taking place between Dec. 26 and Jan. 1st.  A different principle is celebrate each day.  Storytelling draws on our creativity and connects us to our heritage.

ZODIAC'S CHILDREN

Virgo’s Child

Excerpts ...

Virgo children are usually quite easy to raise.  They are neat, organized, and have a gentle sense of humor that you will enjoy.  They are rarely hateful and mean.  They are so well behaved that I think most parents just sort of leave them to themselves since they are like miniature adults.  One of the hardest things about being a really good kid is that you melt into the woodwork and nobody notices you anymore.

ARTICLES FOR STORYTELLERS

How To Learn The Art Of Creative Writing

The term creative writing is used to discern certain types of inventive or artistic writing from other general types of writing. The field of creative writing is broad and includes many different formats and genres of writing. The broad and general description of it is purposeful in its effort not to limit the imagination of the potential writer, or that of the reader. Creative writing is totally different from other types of writing, such as technical writing, scientific writing, or copy-driven journalism. The discipline of creative writing includes, but should not be limited to, works of fiction, poetry, personal memoir or autobiography, song lyrics, plays and screenplays, and any mixture of the above.

Vashtu Sastra Guide by T. Selva

Vasthu Sastra Guide is a non-fiction piece of work. In the author’s own words:

Although the awareness of Vasthu Sastra is increasing daily worldwide, I found that many people lacked understanding of the effective application of Vasthu Sastra rules on their properties. This prompted me to write this book to enhance the understanding of Vasthu Sastra.
