A WARM WELCOME TO ALL OUR NEW SUBSCRIBERS!
I.
Introduction
Hi ,
My goodness. I never expected so many people to want Jackie Wellman's
book. We've had record number of entries. The winner of her book,
Spiritual Clarity is Gopal Ramasammy-Cook. Gopal,
please contact Jackie at hoppyataol.com and I'm sure she'll be delighted
to send you a copy of her book. Now, as there has been such a fantastic
response, I asked Jackie if she would like to extend this contest and
she has kindly agreed to do so. So, if you'd like another chance, then
do participate in the contest.
I have been informed that some of you are receiving the newsletter under
'bluk' emails and I find that emails I send to subscribers keep coming
back. So, please, do set your check your settings so that you'll receive
this newsletter regularly.
Nothing much else to report.
I hope that you enjoy the read.
All the best,
Aneeta Sundararaj

STORYAFRICA
One important function of
storytelling
Many times,
people think
that
storytelling is
just another way
to impart
knowledge,
entertain a
group of people
or just be
another way of
earning more
money. However,
there is one
important
function – to
motivate people.
And the best
example I’ve
seen of late is
the story of
Donny Parham.
In this
article
Stories meant to
inspire students
it is written,
In
western
Africa, a
griot is a
storyteller,
a person who
passes on
the wisdom
of a village
to
generations

STORYASIA
An emperor in the Far East was growing old
and knew it was time to choose his
successor. Instead of choosing one of his
assistants or his children, he decided
something different.
He called young people in the kingdom
together one day.
He said, "It is time for me to step down and
choose the next emperor. I have decided to
choose one of you."
The kids were shocked!

TIPS FOR STORYTELLERS
Exercise. Exercise. Exercise.
... Now, I’ve thought about it a little more and here
are some easy exercises you can follow to come up with
short stories you can narrate/relate in 3-7 minutes.
1. Being true to my Malaysian culture, I’m going to
pick a topic revolving around food. Take one minute to
say whatever comes into your mind when you think of the
word ‘rice’.

Heartfelt,
But Politically Incorrect
(by Neill Neill)
This
holiday
something
was
bothering
me. I
would
start to
wish
someone
a Merry
Christmas.
Then I
would
find
myself
qualifying
my
well-wishing
with "I
know
it's not
politically
correct
to say
this,
but..."
As an
accident
of birth
I was
raised
in the
Christian
tradition
where
the
Christmas
celebration
arose.
If I had
been
born
Jewish I
would
have
been
celebrating
Hanukkah.
If my
origins
had been
African
I might
have
been
celebrating
Kwanzaa.
If I
were
from
India I
might
have
been
celebrating
Diwali.
If my
origins
were
Islamic,
I would
be
readying
myself
for
Ramadan
and the
celebration
of Eid
al-fitr
at the
end of
the
month of
fasting.

people how to play the piano over the Internet... Rory M. takes in over
$1 million a year selling a little round gizmo for strengthening your
wrist.
And now you can steal, duplicate, and shamelessly profit from the exact
same system they're using! To find out how, go to:
