“LIFE AS WE KNOW IT ENDS TODAY” or words to
that effect was the headline dominating the newspapers.
“Thank God for that” said Martha, “It was
stretching me beyond the limit. There’s only so much some of us can take.”

“What would happen if we were all connected, not just because we share this world, but entangled, inseparable, like drops of water in the ocean?” asked Brian.
“You know we are” came back the reply instantly on the virtual screen.
Einstein had popped in for a coffee, and Newton was sat in the corner, cursing. “My stuff held sway for 500 years, but even he [pointing to Einstein] is now passé.”
“Look old man,” said Einstein, “Anybody credible who comes up with a plausible [real] theory these days is lucky to get 10 years acceptance of their ‘stuff.’ You stand out like a beacon in history.”
Newton was having none of it. “Yes, one that’s gone out.”
The unfortunate who was on the receiving end of Newton’s ranting was Charlie Chaplin. Rodin and Andy Warhol were both sulking, complaining about how long it took to get an appointment. A smiling Capone was about to go in, causing incredulity amongst the rest. “How the hell did he get in here?” summed up the collective unspoken feelings
An assortment of earth geniuses of physics, entertainment, literature, the arts and sport were assembled in the “White Room.” The White Room would have been called heaven in an earlier era, as it was a place where routine miracles occurred.
Despite that, the psychotherapy practice of Archangels Gabriel and Michael was booked up for the ‘foreseeable future,’ hence the grumbling and dissent.
Brian, who was sharing a virtual, keyless, voiceless conversation [Mindmet] with Jane & Martha, reflected on the fact that thoughts were instantaneous. Einstein had always maintained nothing could travel fast than the speed of light, and had he Newton’s melancholy disposition, he would have felt sorry for himself too.
The White Room’s inhabitants were all re-adjusting to the new reality. Despite the fact that in the early 21st century, the mind-set of Newton and Einstein still informed the ‘news.’
Rainbow children were now the engine of change. Enlightened adults had been their teachers, and now the kids were teaching the whole planet.
There were dangers at first, when an increasing number of people had learned to manifest. The big corporations knew this, and had ‘encouraged’ manifestation of their products. The planet had been swamped with mountains of burgers, buckets of chicken, trainers, face rejuvenation cream, gum, handbags, clothes, sofas and Red Bull. Riots had been sparked when those who had not mastered manifestation, attacked those who had.
During the six-month orgy of consumption, enough people had manifested peace, calm and an abundance of natural, bio-degradable, life-sustaining, GMO and chemical-free crops and products.
It was slowly sinking in that you didn’t have to choose obesity, greed and a hyper-stimulated lifestyle to enjoy this incarnation. Big corporations had become redundant, as had wall-to-wall spy cameras, shop-your-neighbours-and-parents kits, Paris Hilton and grunting and ‘gamesmanship’ at Wimbledon.
By combining visualising with feelings, informed by the conviction of an abundant world, the old reality was going down like dominos.
No longer was it necessary to buy books to read about ‘Conversations with God’ as just about everyone was having dialogues themselves.
Back in 2012 the pace of life had speeded up so much that the new phenomenon of brains literally frying had made the news for two days running.
It was another realisation, which the authorities had become powerless to stop [although attempts were made through the creation of a new definition of witchcraft], that of true relaxation which had been instrumental in turning the tide.
Lowering of the brain waves to a theta state, then communing with God had been the death knell of all the old control and manipulation mechanisms.
Capone had been smiling because he knew his presence would annoy the celebrated company of the White Room. He thought about how human history would have been different had he, Hitler, Mussolini, Genghis Khan and his ilk not been part of it. He always knew at the very core of his being, he was the same as Mother Teresa. Had he not been, God, the Creator would have imperfect, or the old stuff about God battling with the Devil would be a timeless truth.
That ‘geniuses’ needed Archangels to re-orientate them had been a sop to the last vestiges of ego, which was another reason for Capone’s smile.
The three Mindmet subscribers had been going back and to various eras in human history, and had simultaneously ‘fixed’ upon 2008, the era of t*r*or.
What they had found stretched the Mindmet system’s credibility to breaking point. In fact Mindmet wasn’t a true system at all, just an electronically assisted thought processor, which enabled those who used it to indulge in harmless fantasies, without clogging up the manifestation process.
Brian, Jane & Martha knew that they were re-visiting times when reality was created by vested interests, so when they saw people queuing day and night to be iris-scanned, micro-chipped, injected, tattooed and tagged, it sweetened the pill a little.
Despite the fact they knew it was all an illusion, what an illusion it was!
The last time wholesale control of populations had been attempted like this was during the Second World War. Then, at concentration camps, it was imposed with chilling brutality, and because it had been imposed on unwilling, expendable victims. No-one imagined similar [more user-friendly] methods would ever occur in ‘peacetime.’
The Mindmet trio noticed the same people who had created the conditions for global conflict had still been manipulating minds fifty years on.
Jane et al had no need to watch the appalling scenes of brutality in films and in crime ‘thrillers’ that had become part of the television viewers’ daily fare in 2007. A quick ‘thank you’ to each other, and back to the reality they wanted for themselves and their children, and a quick tingle down their spines to remind them how close the ‘reality’ of Mindmet scenes had been.
The old newspaper headline of July 4th 2008 was a poster on the wall of Martha’s son’s bedroom. The hologram was beamed around the room:
“LIFE AS WE KNOW IT BEGAN YESTERDAY”.
