NOOK CHRONICLES

by Brenda James

These days, Brenda James can be found elbow-deep in buds, petals and blooms in the lovely setting of 'Nook Flowers', a flower shop she conceptualised and brought to fruition in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur.

In this column, Brenda shares stories from her life as a florista. Her previous years in the brand communications and event management industry has solidified Brenda’s standpoint that everything should be viewed as a work-in-progress. That way, learning and evolving becomes an ongoing process rather than an end game.

While she believes that technology is a great thing and should be embraced with arms wide open, she writes down everything with a pen and into a notebook. In this old-school style of doing things, she still does her part in supporting book stores and stationery shops where she spends most of her free time contemplating her next move.
