Christian Writing Markets
Christian Writing; it's a market so big that it
cannot be ignored. Typical of Christian writing, both the
publications featured below insist upon true stories. Would it be
unchristian to pass off as a true story something you invented? I'll
leave you to make up your own minds on that one.
Angels on Earth publishes true stories which relate the escapades of
God's messengers on Earth. They look for stories where the narrator
has been positively affected in some way, and which contain
spiritual ideas that the reader can take away and apply to their own
life. Detailed
submission guidelines are available
through the website. As always, it is advised that you study the
magazine.
Payment varies, depending on the quality of the manuscript, from
$100 to $400. Generally the maximum length for stories is 1500
words. Both typed and emailed submissions are accepted.
Guideposts is a long running American Christian magazine. They look
for true stories that help people to understand how they can develop
courage, strength and a positive attitude in their own lives. For
manuscripts between 750 and 1500 words Guideposts will pay between
$250 and $500, depending on quality. They also published shorter
stories of between 250 and 750 words, paying between $100 and $200.
Take a look at their detailed
submission
guidelines. Guideposts accepts submissions both online and
offline.
