Since this is a website about storytelling, let me start by telling you a brief story.

In September 2006, I attended a seminar here in Kuala Lumpur. It was all about setting up websites and making a living from it. If I previously felt somewhat depressed about the lack of progress of this website, I was immediately comforted hearing of others' frustrations.

 

However, some the tales were downright tragic. The one that horrified me the most was about a lady who invested RM18,000.00 (equivalent to about $4,000.00 US) in products to create 6 sites and earned not one single penny from any of them.

 

Can you believe that horrendous tale?

I will not tell you that setting up a website is easy. It is not. It takes hard work. But, I can tell you that I have created this site all on my own! With that, there is no doubt in my mind that anyone at all can do this.

Believe you me, when I started, I did not know one end of the computer from the other. I see success on the internet in terms of a journey. For instance, say you wish to go from Singapore to Thailand, there are several methods you can employ:

1. You can fly direct, Singapore-Bangkok.

2. You can drive all the way north from Singapore to Bangkok via Malaysia - a journey of maybe a full day.

3. You can fly Singapore-Kuala Lumpur-Bangkok - a journey of about half a day.

4. You can leave Singapore, intending to go to Bangkok but end up in Jakarta instead - this is going the wrong way all together!

Also, I was determined to find a company that was reputable and honest. And, it's sheer luck and nothing else, that I came across a company called The Internet Marketing Centre.

Remember, I was an absolute novice at designing a website.
